Hazel

Stone County Humane SocietyMeet Hazel! She loves to play with her siblings, Harlow and Holden. Hazel and Holden look exactly alike, but she is a little smaller than him. None of them are house trained because they are still very young puppies.  Their previous owners think Dad was a Heeler mix and Mom a Pit/Hound mix.  Hazel and her 2 siblings have very short, thick legs, however, so there might be some bull dog or basset in the mix.  Hazel will be spayed soon and ready for adoption!

She loves to play with her siblings, Hazel and Holden.  Hazel and Holden look exactly alike, but Harlow was blessed with her unique tri-color fur. She is also the runt of the litter. Daisy

Great Pyrenees MixDaisy is calm, affectionate, and the most loving dog ever.  She loves kids, other animals, and most people too.  Daisy loves to be right by your side wherever you go and she loves to cuddle. She is almost a year old and has spent most of her time outside.  She did test positive for heartworms and the tick disease because her owners did not give her a monthly flea/tick or heartworm preventative.  We are treating both of these illnesses but she will have to be on heartworm preventative the rest of her life – which is easy to administer.  Daisy is about 10-15 pounds underweight (currently 66lbs) but don’t worry, with the proper medication and nutrition that we are providing for her, she will gain that weight in no time!

Remy

Mountain CurRemy is a year old and 35 pounds. Her mother was a stray who gave birth on someone’s land and this is where she grew up, but the land owners did not take care of her (or her brother Ranger).  Not only was Remy’s skin in horrible condition when she got here but she was very thin and afraid. She tested positive for Ehrlichia (tick disease) and is being treated for that. We are also fattening her up :). Now all she needs is a human she can trust, love and call family.

Kally

This beautiful calico is Kally. She is a very sweet adult kitty, about 4 years old. Her owners passed away and she had no where to go.
She loves attention from people but the other cats scare her. She comes out of hiding for cuddles when we go into the cat cottage but once we leave, she goes back into her box. Kally really needs a home where she can relax and receive the love she deserves.

Brat

Black CatMeet Brat! Brat is very sweet, but shy, and no one wants a cat that shies away from them. This sweet girl (who has been at the shelter for over 715 days!) deserves a good home and needs someone willing to take her home and give her time to warm up to them. Brat also has allergies (which is why her eyes look a little funny), so a diet of sensitive skin/stomach food would suit her best.  The adoption fee for anyone who adopts Brat has already been paid- she was adopted and returned by someone who had children that Brat did not warm up to.  She felt that Brat really was a great cat and needed a good home, so she paid the fee for the next person who adopts her. Brat is spayed, current on all shots, and litter box trained.  If you are able and willing to give Brat the time and space she needs to gain your trust, she would make a great companion for you!

Phoenix

Lab/Grey Hound MixPhoenix is a goofy little gal. She was an outside dog with little to no interaction with other dogs or people.  We are working with her on socialization which is going well.  She has tons of energy and loves to play with other dogs, but doesn’t really know how. It is very entertaining watching her try to play with other dogs.  Phoenix walks well on a leash and appears to be very smart and trainable. She also loves cuddles and booty scratches.

If you would like to arrange a visit to meet Phoenix, please contact our shelter at 870-269-5200. You can also click the link below to complete an adoption application and we will contact you!
