Louie and Louise

Louie and Louise are a bonded pair of visually impaired cats.  They came to the shelter as kittens but lost some of their eye sight due to illness. One would think they would be skittish because they are visually impaired, but that is not case.  They are very affectionate and love to be petted. They can see shadows and react very well to certain sounds, but loud noises make them nervous. These two were adopted young, but brought back because their owner’s living situation changed and they could no longer care for them. They were adopted again and brought back after 5 months because the household was too loud (they had small children) and Louise was scared and stopped using the litterbox.

Louie and Louise need a quiet, loving home to settle into. They would make amazing companions for an older person or couple. Please contact us today to come meet these two!

Sasha

Flat Coated Retriever Miss Sasha is a character! She is exuberant, confident and outgoing…she is GO GO GO! She has a boisterous enthusiasm that may require supervision when she is around small children, only because she may knock them down accidentally. Sasha has been chained up her whole life because she was too much for her owners, so she has a lot of pent-up energy to expend. She was also chasing their ducks, which is a big NO-NO. She loves people, other dogs and is ok with kitties too. She does require plenty of exercise and engagement to help channel her natural “sporting energy”- she would be the perfect dog for an active couple or family. She would also make a great hiking buddy! Sasha is currently a year and a half old and weighs 50lbs.

Gouda

Gouda is one out of a group of 10 kittens from the same home.  She is a little timid, but calms down when being held. She likes to play with her siblings and her toys.  Gouda is litter box trained and loves other cats, kittens, and would probably do well with dogs too.  She is a beautiful Buff color but the pictures do not show how beautiful she really is! Gouda would make a great pet for any kitty lover. She will be ready to go after she gets spayed.

Olive

Olive has a very unique appearance – she looks similar to a German Shepherd, but in a Dachshund body – very cute! She is 1 1/2 years old and weighs 25lbs. She came from a home that couldn’t afford to take care of her and she was covered in ticks.  Despite all of that, Olive is very friendly and all she wants to do is please you and get lots of love.  She has been primarily outside but has not pottied in her room here, so she might be housetrained.  She does well with other dogs, cats, and kids too.  She would make a great family pet!

Danu

German PointerDanu’s (Dah-new) owner wants to have free range animals but Danu kills chickens, so she is here now.  Danu is very friendly and affectionate. She looks like a German Shorthaired Pointer, but with longer hair (her mother is a Newfoundland).  Danu is good with other dogs, including small dogs. She has a very calm nature and is house trained, but is prey driven – she will chase anything that runs including cats.  She also likes to wander, so a home with a fenced in yard or lots of acreage would be best for her. She is almost a year old and weighs 68lbs.

Shirley

White and Gray CatShirley showed up at our shelter trying to get into our cat building.  We could not find out where she belonged so we brought her inside.  She was a little unpredictable at first and liked to swat at us, but it only took about a week to gain her trust.  She loves cheek scratches and treats and she gets along well with the other cats. She does prefer to be outside though, but is litterbox trained. We believe she is about 2-3 years old.

Shae

Shae is a very sweet, friendly puppy.  She loves attention from people and to be in your lap.  She came to us with her 5 siblings after being dumped in a crate and left on the back porch of a store.  We know nothing about what parents are.  We think she is a lab/pit mix and will be a medium sized dog.  She would be good with other dogs, kids, and cats.

Ruthie

Pyrenees MixRuthie is a beautiful Pyrenees Mix that showed up as a stray.  She is a little shy/timid at first but warms up quickly, especially if you have hot dogs!  We don’t know anything about her past but we do know that she is deaf. The person who found her would have kept her, but she lives on the highway and Ruthie can’t hear the cars coming and tends to chase them once she sees them- she was not safe there.  She has only been outside since found but she seems to like it indoors here and she is housetrained.  She loves to play with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats.  Ruthie is about 3 years old and weighs 40lbs, but will be around 50lbs once at a healthy weight.
