Bear

Stone County Humane SocietyCan you guess why his name is Bear?! Bear is a giant black Lab, weighing in at 90 pounds. Giant he is, but a gentle one! Bear is 11 years old and was returned to the shelter due to his owners health issues and not being able to care for him any longer.  He is a very sweet, loving dog needing a great home to retire in. Bear would be best as outside dog being that he is not house trained, but he is very smart.

Dixie

Shepard/hound mixDixie here! I am a young  Shepard/hound mix, weighing in at 43 pounds. I am easy going and get along with other dogs, cats too! I am also house trained! I love to be around people, especially if you have treats for me, and receiving pets is my favorite.

Dixie is now enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock for 8 weeks of training and TLC. She will learn basic commands, get kennel trained, house trained and will learn some tricks too.
