**Bella was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. She will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. She will be crate trained, house trained, learn manners, and she will learn lots of tricks as well! Bella will be looking for a forever home before she graduates the first week of June, so if you are interested in meeting her, please contact us!
Bella is a wonderful little Beagle pup. She is 7 months old and weighs 16 lbs (could get to 25 lbs when full grown). She was surrendered to us by an elderly couple who could no longer care for her. They crate trained and potty trained her – she is very smart! Bella loves other dogs and would be good with kids too. She is full of energy and loves toys as well as affection. She also does well riding in a car. Bella is just a little joy that will bring happiness and love to your life.

We think Gretchen is used to being in a home and for whatever reason she showed up at someone’s house, wanting inside, but no one in the neighborhood knew her. She was already spayed. Gretchen is very friendly with our staff, more fearful of her new environment than anything but still loves our attention. She is very laid back and mostly just lays in her comfy chair, sleeping the days away. We have her down as 8 years old, but I think she might be more like 14. She is litter box trained and does well with other cats. This senior kitty needs a loving home with a comfy spot in the sun where she can spend her golden years being spoiled.
Mama is a little chunky sweetheart. She is about 2 lbs overweight, which is a lot for such a small cat. *UPDATE: she is at a healthy weight now!
Poor Fritzie was found in the national forest with a flea collar on, but no owner anywhere?? The forest service picked her up and put her in foster care until we had room at the shelter. Miss Fritzie is super affectionate and purrs as soon as you pick her up. She loves to be held and nuzzle into your neck. She does not appear to be a fan of other felines, but loves people. She is litter box trained and spayed. Fritzie has been both indoors and outdoors and is about a year old.
Nala is a laid back and lazy lady! She loves to cuddle up on a blanket or bed and snooze the day away. She won’t come to you but if you go to her and offer pets, she enjoys it. Nala does well with other cats and dogs too. She has been both indoors and outdoors, is litter box trained and spayed. Nala is ready to find her forever home, will it be yours?
Hey everyone, London here! I just turned One and I am full grown at 45lbs. They tell me I am a smart cookie because I have learned so much since I got here back in February (2o24). When I arrived, I didn’t know how to walk on a leash and I pottied in my room (which I guess is a big NO NO). Now I love going for walks in my harness and catching bugs and running through the tall grass. I only use the bathroom in my outside area or the yard and I can use the doggie door as well! I really like to play with toys and with humans, but other dogs make me nervous and I can’t stand cats! I am getting used to other dogs though and might have a roommate soon, but I hope I find a forever home before then cause I really prefer to be by myself.
Kenna is almost 4 years old and weighs 62lbs. She is very slender and sleek with a blue speckle in one of her eyes- just a beautiful dog. Kenna loves to cuddle and is pretty calm and gentle. She loves to play with other dogs and she plays hard! She gets along with most male dogs but is not a fan of other female canines. Kenna does well with kids, is house trained and knows basic commands. It takes her a few minutes to get used to strangers, but once she knows she is safe she does just fine with anyone. This poor girl has been at the shelter most of her life – she was adopted as a puppy and brought back, been here since July 2023. Please consider opening your hearts and giving her a chance to enjoy a normal life, outside of the shelter and in a loving home!
