Dill is a sweet, playful kitten. He was very shy when he got here but now loves affection and is curious about humans and likes to be held and petted. He needs a home where he can run and play with his toys and be the center of attention. He has a swirl pattern on his fur that everyone comments on – he is really cool looking kitty! **Prissy was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. She will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. She will be crate trained, learn manners, and she will learn lots of tricks as well! Prissy will be looking for a forever home before she graduates in early December, so if you are interested in meeting her, please contact us!
Prissy is a woot! The first thing you will notice about her is how friendly and socialized she is. She loves everybody! She is also energetic and GO GO GO! She has FOMO (fear of missing out) and wants to be where the action is. She plays hard with other dogs but it’s always in good spirits. She has a great personality and is eager to please. She know simple commands and is house trained. She has not been around cats, but is very good with other dogs and kids. She would make a great family pet.

Angelica stands out from the bunch with her unique orange eyes. This little lady loves to be held and petted, but really enjoys running around and playing. She loves her toys and exploring with the other kittens, but when she gets tired she goes off by herself and rests. She is so loving and adorable! Hulk is one of the smartest puppies we have had in a while. His mom was a German Shepherd and Dad a black lab. He has beautiful dark brindled fur. For his age, he is very calm and well-mannered. He loves to fetch and play with his toys. He is friendly to everyone. He is good with other dogs and kids. He does chase cats, but I think he could learn otherwise. He has only been outside but loves being in our shelter. He potties in his outside area and not in his room, so would be easily housetrained. Hulk would make a great family pet. He is about 3-4 months old now and weighs 37lbs, so will be a big dog.

Sammie, who is 6 years old, was brought to us by her owner who could no longer take care of her due to health problems. Sammie was very overweight when we got her, but is slimming down. She is down to 78lbs now (from 90). She has been both indoors and outdoors and is house trained. She does well with other dogs and kids. Sammie has a very calm, sweet disposition and loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. She is used to being in a home and would make a great family pet.

Hey everyone, London here! I just turned One and I am full grown at 45lbs. They tell me I am a smart cookie because I have learned so much since I got here back in February (2o24). When I arrived, I didn’t know how to walk on a leash and I pottied in my room (which I guess is a big NO NO). Now I love going for walks in my harness and catching bugs and running through the tall grass. I only use the bathroom in my outside area or the yard and I can use the doggie door as well! I really like to play with toys and with humans, but other dogs make me nervous and I can’t stand cats! I am getting used to other dogs though and might have a roommate soon, but I hope I find a forever home before then cause I really like to be by myself (so I can get all of the attention when the humans come to hang out).
Anyway, I would be a loyal and fun companion, if you would give me the chance.
Please come by and say hi, maybe take me for a walk? I would LOVE that!

Luke came to us with his sister, London. They were surrendered because their owner had too many dogs. He looks like a Black Mouth Cur/Shepherd Mix to us. He is a very active and playful dog and needs a place to run and play with people who will give him lots of attention. He is very affectionate and loves human interaction. He does not like cats but is good with other dogs and kids. Luke is eager to please and just wants a person to love on him and be with him all the time. He will make a great companion dog for someone or a family. He is just now a year old and weighs 45lbs.

**Update from the PIP trainer: Luke has demonstrated basics and more advanced training besides 20+ tricks. His handlers say that he is “well mannered, a love bug, and a dog that loves attention.”

Rocco is sweet, calm and affectionate. He enjoys exploring and playing with toys, but is pretty laid back. Rocco was dumped in a park with his 5 brothers and was in a home until we could take him at the shelter. He has never been outside, so he is litter box trained. He could be an indoor/outdoor cat, after he gets comfortable with his new home. Rocco is also neutered and current on shots. He is about a year old and is on the bigger side, resembling a the Ocicat Breed with his spotted body and stripped legs.
