Louise came to us with her sister, Thelma. Both showed up as strays and were never claimed. Louise is very shy and timid at first, but is very receptive to belly rubs, treats and attention. She is house trained, crate trained and is good with other dogs and kids. She can climb a short fence so would need a taller fence. Louise would need some time to adapt to your home but after she feels safe, she will make a great family pet. Louise is just under a year old and is a Red Heeler/Australian Shepherd Mix. She has a cute little nub tail and is 30lbs.

Thelma came to us with her sister Louise after being abandoned. Thelma is the more outgoing of the 2 and is friendly. She is house trained and we are told crate trained as well. She does well with other dogs and has a very gentle, loving nature. Her adorable nub tail and size suggest she is a Australian Shepherd mixed with Blue Heeler. Thelma is about 7 months old and weighs 30lbs, she shouldn’t get much bigger. She would make a great pet for an active family.
**Misty was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. She will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. She will be crate trained, house trained, learn manners, and she will learn lots of tricks as well! Misty will be looking for a forever home before she graduates at the end of September, so if you are interested in meeting her, please contact us!
Little Sadie is such a clam, quiet and sweet soul. She enjoys laying and sitting around, observing all the other dogs and people. She can be shy at first but that is expected with dogs coming from situations like hers. She came from a home that had 11 other dogs and they were all being badly neglected. Despite that, she loves affection and is good with other dogs. She loves to snuggle and be loved on. She is learning about leashes and going for walks and she loves being inside the shelter and having a cool floor to lay on after playing out in the yard. She does not potty in her room here so will be easily house trained. Sadie is about a year old and only weighs 30lbs and won’t get much bigger. She will make a wonderful dog for any dog lover.
Skye is a little sweety! She was surrendered to us from a bad situation but in spite of this, she is loving and desperate for human affection. She is very good with other dogs and would be good with kids too. She has only been outdoors but loves being inside our shelter and laying on the cool floor after playing out in the yard. She is very playful and loves toys! She does not like to do her business inside and waits to go out, so she would be easily housetrained. Skye is about a year old and weighs 34lbs…she shouldn’t get much bigger than that.

Dover is a very affectionate, friendly, and energetic dog. His owner was just too old to care for him properly. He has been indoors and outdoors, and partially house trained. He really needs a family/person that can give him the play time he needs and the affection he deserves. Dover is good with other dogs but hasn’t been around cats. He loves to chase balls and craves human attention. He would make a great companion for someone or the perfect addition to an active family looking for a dog to bring along for the ride. Dover is currently 4 years old and weighs 57lbs.
Zane came to us with 6 of his siblings, Clover, Cora, Cici, Zeke, Margo and Mango. Dad is a Red Heeler and Mom a Shepherd Mix. They all have the biggest ears you have ever seen! Zane has been both inside and outside and is good with cats, kids, and other dogs. He is very timid but we are working on that and giving him tons of socialization and reassurance. He really enjoys affection, but he will take time (a few weeks) to settle into your home. Patience is necessary with puppies that are scared like this litter is. He is not house trained but we offer free online basic obedience and house training via Dog Academy. Zane will make a great addition to any home looking to add an active puppy to their family. He was born 1/1/25 and will be 40-50lbs full grown.
Mango came to us with 6 of her siblings, Zeke, Zane, Clover, Cora, Cici and Margot. Dad is a Red Heeler and Mom a Shepherd Mix. Mango has been both inside and outside and is good with cats, kids, and other dogs. She is very timid but we are working with her and giving her more socialization and reassurance. She is starting to come out of her shell and is very energetic and playful. She is not house trained but we offer free online basic obedience and house training via Dog Academy. She will make a great addition to any home looking to add an energetic puppy to their family. She was born 1/1/25 and weighs 30lbs. She will be anywhere from 40-60lbs full grown.
