Nash is an extremely smart, sweet dog. Unfortunately, he was found abandoned – left chained up without food, water, or a shelter. He was brought to us by the local sheriff. We don’t know anything about his story but he loves everybody at the shelter and responds well to our attention and care. Nash just wants to be near people and is very playful. He appears to be a full-blooded Aussie and has a very unique, loving personality. He would make a wonderful pet for an active person or family. This breed of dog needs to stay busy and active, not just be left by himself all day long. Nash is about a year old and full grown at 53 lbs.

Dean came to us as an owner surrender. He was chasing the neighbor’s livestock and they were threatening to shoot him. They had no where to contain him so they brought him to the shelter. He is house trained and knows simple commands. He is very good with other dogs, but has not been around cats. He has a sweet and gentle disposition and just wants to be near people. He is used to being part of a family and is missing that close interaction with humans. He will make a great family pet!
Arlo was an owner surrender – they developed health problems and could no longer care for him. He has been both indoors and outdoors and is litterbox trained. Arlo is very socialized and friendly. He’s good with other cats and is very playful. He would make a great family pet. Arlo has a gorgeous swirl pattern on his fur and is just so handsome. You have to see for yourself! Arlo is about 3 years old.
Atticus came to us with both his parents from a family who developed health problems and couldn’t care for them. He is very socialized, friendly, playful, and loves his toys. He is litter box trained. He’s full of spunk and energy but also likes to be held. Atticus will make a great family addition. He has the cutest orange spot on his nose too. This handsome dog showed up as a stray and was never claimed. Brooks is very friendly, walks well on a leash, and is house trained. It appears to us that he has been part of a family because he loves people and is very well behaved. He can be very shy at first but don’t let that fool you. He would be good with other dogs and kids too. He doesn’t care for cats though. He has a very gentle, sweet personality. Brooks is about a year old and weighs 60lbs.
Poor Chappy was found tied up in the back of a local vet’s office in very bad condition. He was very thin, and tested positive for heart worms. He has received treatment and is now gaining weight and looking really good. In spite of whatever he has been through, Chappy is very happy and loves everyone he meets. He is the sweetest dog and just wants to be loved. He still needs to put on weight, but otherwise he is doing very well. Chappy is good with other dogs and has a very gentle nature. Chappy is about 4 years old and currently weighs 74lbs – he should be about 80 pounds once at a healthy weight.
Malfoy was named after the bully in Harry Potter because he is mean to his brother. He is a sweet boy, just likes to bully his brother so we split them up. Malfoy loves attention and affection, but can be shy at first. He was kept in a horse trailer with little socialization, which explains his behavior. Malfoy is also playful and curious. He will do great with other dogs and probably kids too. Mom is a Catahoula Mix but we have no idea what dad is…possibly a Hound. He has one blue eye and a black speckled nose. He is very handsome! Malfoy is about 3 months old now and will be big when full grown, maybe 60-70 lbs.
**Bourbon was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. He will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. He will be crate trained, learn manners and he will learn lots of tricks as well! Sheamus is a gentleman! He is calm, gentle and gives hugs. He has a lot of love to give and would like to get some in return. He enjoys cheek scratches and any other form of affection you have to offer. Do you have room in your heart and home to give this sweet boy the love he deserves? He is about 4 years old, litterbox trained and fully vaccinated!
Guy is a brown tabby which is very unique as we usually just see gray & blk tabbies! Guy was very well taken care of but the man just had too many cats and had to surrender some to us. Guy lived outdoors but is adjusting to the sounds and sights in the shelter and doing well. He does this cute thing where he ducks down behind things, thinking we can’t see him and he slowly raises his head then ducks back down…he is very playful. He also loves affection. Guy is neutered, litter box trained and very sweet. He will make a wonderful pet for any cat lover. He is about a year old.
