**Bo was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. He will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. He will be crate trained, learn manners, and he will learn lots of tricks as well! Bo will be looking for a forever home before he graduates at the end of September, so if you are interested in meeting him, please contact us!
Dover is a very affectionate, friendly, and energetic dog. His owner was just too old to care for him properly. He has been indoors and outdoors, and partially house trained. He really needs a family/person that can give him the play time he needs and the affection he deserves. Dover is good with other dogs but hasn’t been around cats. He loves to chase balls and craves human attention. He would make a great companion for someone or the perfect addition to an active family looking for a dog to bring along for the ride. Dover is currently 4 years old and weighs 57lbs.
Joey is playful, energetic, and loves to run and chase toys. He is just a little guy, very small for his age; small but mighty! Joey’s best friend before coming to the shelter was a 120 pound Great Dane…he doesn’t mind dogs at all and gets along pretty well with other kitties. He is litter box trained and will be neutered upon adoption. Joey will make a great pet for anyone looking for an an energetic, playful kitten.
Zane came to us with 6 of his siblings, Clover, Cora, Cici, Zeke, Margo and Mango. Dad is a Red Heeler and Mom a Shepherd Mix. They all have the biggest ears you have ever seen! Zane has been both inside and outside and is good with cats, kids, and other dogs. He is very timid but we are working on that and giving him tons of socialization and reassurance. He really enjoys affection, but he will take time (a few weeks) to settle into your home. Patience is necessary with puppies that are scared like this litter is. He is not house trained but we offer free online basic obedience and house training via Dog Academy. Zane will make a great addition to any home looking to add an active puppy to their family. He was born 1/1/25 and will be 40-50lbs full grown.
Leroy came from a home that has too many dogs. He and his 5 siblings grew up in a small pen with little socialization. He craves affection and accepts it! Leroy is underweight but has a healthy appetite and is eating well. Leroy is very sweet and just wants to be loved. He can be on the timid side at first, so he will take a little time to get used to you, but don’t let that stop you from taking this sweet boy home. He will make a wonderful dog for any patient person looking for a companion. He is about a year old and neutered. He is not housetrained but we offer free online obedience training to all of our adopters via Dog Academy.
Lefty came from a home that has too many dogs. He and his 5 siblings grew up in a small pen with little socialization. He craves affection and accepts it, but can be a little shy at first. He was so scared the first day he came to the shelter that we had to carry him everywhere. Today, he wonders around with curiosity and excitement. He is still a little timid, but is getting more confident each day. He just needs to learn that he is safe and that we aren’t going to harm him. Lefty had never been brushed or bathed before we got him so his coat is pretty ragged, but we are brushing him daily to get it looking good again. He is not housetrained but only goes in his outside area here, so should be easily trained. We offer free online obedience training to all of our adopters via Dog Academy to help with that. Lefty will be a wonderful dog for any dog loving home! He is about a year old and weighs 55lbs.
Petey is such a good boy! He loves other dogs and going for walks. If you tell him you’re going to take his picture he will pose for you (very cute!). He knows basic commands and is very eager to please. Petey can be timid around some people, but for the most part he is friendly. He would do best in a home with another dog or with a person/family that would take him everywhere with them – he tends to get anxious when left alone and is known to bark. Petey has great energy and is a fun dog that would make a great addition to any dog loving home. He is 3 years old and 55lbs.
Buddy is super sweet and loves attention, but he is shy at first. Don’t let that prevent you from giving him a chance though because this dog is amazing! He had only been outdoors before we got him and we keep him in an outside kennel here because he LOVES to play in his water. He has been inside a few times and did just fine using the doggie door. Buddy is good with other dogs, cats, and kids too. He is full of energy and very smart. We only have to show him how to something once and he understands (like walking with a harness and leash). He likes cuddles, to chew on stuffies and he loves to be right by your side. He will make a great companion for any dog lover that is looking for a constant companion. Buddy did test positive for Heartworms when we got him and he has successfully finished his treatment. He will need to be on heartworm preventative the rest of his life (which is an easy thing to do).
