Petey is such a good boy! He loves other dogs and going for walks. If you tell him you’re going to take his picture he will pose for you (very cute!). He knows basic commands and is very eager to please. Petey can be timid around some people, but for the most part he is friendly. He would do best in a home with another dog or with a person/family that would take him everywhere with them – he tends to get anxious when left alone and is known to bark. Petey has great energy and is a fun dog that would make a great addition to any dog loving home. He is 3 years old and 55lbs.

Gru is such a sweet boy…a sweet BIG boy! He is 14lbs of handsome. He has the most gorgeous green eyes and unique black spots on his face. He came to us because his owner got married and realized her husband was allergic to cats. Gru is friendly and loves affection. He does well with other cats too. He is fully vaccinated, neutered and litter box trained. He is 3 years old and has never been outside.
Aquilla was a stray found on a farm and was well taken care of before coming to the shelter. He is friendly, affectionate and likes to play with other dogs. He has a very sweet disposition and is pretty easy-going. He is neutered and current on vaccinations. Aquilla is also housetrained and does great with kids. He is about a year old and weighs 58 pounds…he shouldn’t get much bigger.
Moose is very shy but also very sweet. He came to us with his siblings, Bean and Fish. They were rescued as kittens and kept inside but never received much attention. He is the biggest of the bunch and probably the bravest. He is warming up quickly to all our attention and care. He is litter box trained, neutered and fully vetted. Moose needs a home that will be patient while he settles in; the world is scary and mysterious right now. He is almost 2 years old.
**Update: Hawkeye was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. He will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. He will be crate trained, house trained, learn manners, and he will learn lots of tricks as well! Hawkeye will be looking for a forever home before he graduates the in mid June, so if you are interested in meeting him, please contact us!
Buddy is super sweet and loves attention. He was surrendered because his owner went into a nursing home. He has only been outdoors before we got him but enjoys being inside at our shelter. He is heart worm positive and receiving treatment. He will be available for adoption after his treatment, which ends April 17. Buddy is good with other dogs, cats, and kids too. He is full of energy and very smart. We only have to show him how to something once and he understands (like walking with a harness and leash). He likes cuddles and to chew on stuffies. Buddy will make a great companion for any dog lover.
Hunter has the most beautiful green eyes and has a really sweet personality. He came to us with his sister Harlow, both showed up as strays after birth. He has primarily been outside but has done well with coming into our shelter. He is neutered, litter box trained and on the calmer side. He hasn’t been around many other cats but would probably adapt well. He loves a soft spot to curl up on, maybe your lap? Hunter is currently 8 months old (as of 2/15/25).

Puddles is calm, gentle and easy-going. He loves affection and tennis balls! He came to us with his brother Fawkes. They had been pinned up because they like to wander and their owner was never home, so he didn’t want them to get lost. Puddles will need a home with a fenced yard or lots of land where he is allowed to roam, or a family that will keep him occupied so he doesn’t want to wander. They both came with very matted fur, which we took care of, but he will require occasional brushing. Puddles is house-trained and neutered. He doesn’t bark much at all, unless a car is pulling into the parking lot. He currently has an injured leg and is being treated for the tick disease, which has been causing him to have seizures. Once his treatment is complete, his seizures should subside. If they do not, we will have to do further testing to see if he has something else going on. This sweet boy has been so good through all of these hard times and he deserves a loving home to relax and be comfortable in. Please consider accepting Puddles into your family and home.
Bramble is super friendly and does well with other cats. He is very easy-going and calm. He is not a fan of being picked up, but loves affection otherwise. He has only been outside before we got him, but has adapted very well being inside the shelter. He is litter box trained, neutered and fully vetted.
