Kirby

Orange and White KittenKirby is a super sweet young cat, almost 6 months old.  He is very socialized and loves affection.  He loves to cuddle with his siblings but is a little leery of new kitties.  He loves to be outside but likes to sleep inside. Kirby hasn’t been around young kids but would probably adapt well.  He is litter box trained and neutered, now all he needs is a loving home!

Wrangler

Mountain Cur PuppyWrangler is one super sweet puppy.  He came to us with two of his siblings, Waterlily and Waverly.  Mom was a Cur mix and not sure about Dad.  He is a little timid at first, but warms up quickly and loves attention and belly rubs.  He is not housetrained because he is only 4 months old, but seems to learn fast.  He would be good with other dogs, kids, and cats too.

Jack

Male black and white catJack was surrendered with his sister Jilly-Bean (Jack and Jill). Their owner could no longer afford to care for them, so she sadly had to bring them to us. Jack is 1.5 years old and neutered. He also has all his vaccinations and is litterbox trained. Jack is extremely friendly and affectionate; he loves both people and other cats and to roll around on the floor (especially in the sun). He also has the most handsome green eyes and is calm as well as gentle. Jack will make a great lap cat for someone.

Hank

Black Lab PuppyHank is a very friendly young dog (8 months). We do not know what breed he is but we are guessing a Retriever mix of some sort. The fur on his back is long and wavy, unlike the rest of him. He also has a tiny spot on his chest. Hank loves everyone he meets and would make a great family pet. He is good with other dogs, kids, and probably cats too. He has good energy and loves to play. He was adopted as a young puppy to an older gentleman, and proved to be too much for him. Hank will need an active home with lots of attention. He sits for treats and does pretty well with not going to the bathroom inside, but has had a few accidents here and there.

Percy

Coonhound PuppyPercy is one of 5 siblings here at the shelter. He appears to be the “look-out” and is always the first to notice when someone is coming. He also loves to lay right in front of the door, waiting for someone to come in. He is desperate for attention and loves receiving it! Percy is friendly and would be great with kids and other dogs, but I bet he would also love being the only baby around and getting all of the love! Either way, Percy will make a great addition to any home!  Percy is not house trained, but he is still a puppy and can be easily trained.  On a side note, Percy looks exactly like his brother Petey, but Percy has a black muzzle, unlike Petey.

Finch

Beagle Mix2 year old Finch showed up as a stray with his brother Ford. Finch is very calm, laid back and sweet. He loves attention and to just lay around, but he does play pretty hard with his brother on occasion. They both tested positive for the tick disease and are being treated with an antibiotic. Being that he is a Beagle, Mix Finch will need a home with a fenced yard so his nose doesn’t take him off on an adventure where he might get lost. This sweet boy seems like he has hard life up until now, so he will make a great companion dog for someone. He is 30lbs now and shouldn’t get bigger.

Petey

Coonhound PuppyPile of PuppiesLittle Petey is one of 5 siblings here at the shelter. He and his sister Penelope are the smaller of the pack, Petey being slightly bigger than her. This little guy seems like the “go with the flow” kind of pup. He follows everyone else’s lead whether that be with playing, napping, barking at other dogs or trying to escape from the room when the door opens. He is friendly and loves attention. He would be great with kids and other dogs, but I bet he would also love being the only baby around and getting all of the love! Either way, Petey will make a great addition to any home!  Petey is not house trained, but he is still a puppy and can be easily trained.  On a side note, Petey looks exactly like his brother Percy, but Percy has a black muzzle, unlike Petey.

Cinder

Brindle Shepherd MixCinder is a 2 year old, 70 pound Shepherd Mix. He was adopted from the Paws in Prison Program in Aug of 2021, but was returned because his owner got a job that involved traveling and couldn’t take him along.  He still remembers some of his commands from the Prison and is housetrained. Cinder loves both inside and outside and does well with other animals. He was adopted with another PIP dog, Gregory, and they were returned together (but do not have to be adopted together). Cinder does need a home with another dog or person looking for a constant companion; he has separation anxiety and whines when left alone. Cinder is a little on the shy side but follows his owner everywhere when in a home. He becomes protective of his owner and barks/growls at strangers but is overall a calm and attentive dog.
