Louie came to us with his sister, Thelma. They are somewhat of a bonded pair, but he would probably do fine if adopted alone. Louie is gentle, loving, and craves human attention. He loves belly rubs and to be in your lap. He has a go-with-the-flow energy and loves everybody. He does well with other dogs and kids. He can be shy at first, but that fades quickly. And did you see his short little legs? Just adorable! Louie is not house trained, but we are working on that too. This sweet little dude will make a great pet for any dog lover. Louie is about 3 years old and full grown at 40 lbs.

Thelma was rescued with her brother, Louie. She is shy at first but learning not to be afraid. If you sit with them, she will be the first one in your lap. She is gentle and loves human affection. She has been around other dogs, but is afraid of some. She is really attached to her brother Louie, but they might be ok if adopted separately. She really just needs a chance to be in a good loving home. She has been only been outdoors but is getting used to inside. Thelma twirls around in a circle when excited…she is just precious. She is not house trained, but learning that too. Thelma is about 3 years old and full grown at 35 lbs.
Bourbon jumped into someone’s car while they were pumping gas and wouldn’t get out. He was very thin but very friendly. The people tried to find his owner, but had no luck. They took him home and learned he is good with other dogs (they have 2) and cats! Bourbon has a very gentle, loving nature. He is also house trained. We don’t know much about his past, but we do know he is very sweet and would do well in any home. Bourbon is about 2 years old and will weigh around 90 lbs once at a healthy weight. He is probably a Mastiff/Boxer Mix.
Nikki is a beautiful Black German Shepherd. Her owner moved into a place with chickens and quickly learned that she does not like chickens! They had no choice but to surrender her. Nikki is very smart and well behaved. She is housetrained, good with kids and other dogs. She has been both indoors and outdoors. She walks great on leash and we are told she LOVES car rides. She also knows basic commands. She will make a great companion for whoever is able to snag her up first. You better hurry if you are interested in her, she won’t be here long!
Sheamus is a gentleman! He is calm, gentle and gives hugs. He has a lot of love to give and would like to get some in return. He enjoys cheek scratches and any other form of affection you have to offer. Do you have room in your heart and home to give this sweet boy the love he deserves? He is about 4 years old, litterbox trained and fully vaccinated!
**Percy was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. He was at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock was crate trained, learned manners and he learned a few tricks as well! Percy graduated in early February and went to a home, but it did not work out. No fault of his own – the home was just too busy and loud for him, so he was very anxious.
Guy is a brown tabby which is very unique as we usually just see gray & blk tabbies! Guy was very well taken care of but the man just had too many cats and had to surrender some to us. Guy lived outdoors but is adjusting to the sounds and sights in the shelter and doing well. He does this cute thing where he ducks down behind things, thinking we can’t see him and he slowly raises his head then ducks back down…he is very playful. He also loves affection. Guy is neutered, litter box trained and very sweet. He will make a wonderful pet for any cat lover. He is about a year old.
Buddy is a “muted” gray tabby…very handsome boy! He came to us with his brother Romeo who is his twin. The guy that took them in took really good care of them but just had too many cats. They lived outdoors but are adjusting to the sounds and sights in the shelter and doing well. Buddy is neutered, litter box trained and very sweet. He loves cheek scratches and affection. He will make a wonderful pet for any cat lover. Buddy is almost a year old.
Grace came to us from another rescue with her sister, Mocha. The rescue took in more dogs than they could care for and gave them very little attention or care. Although still a little shy, she is very sweet and playful. She does well with other dogs and would be good with kids too (older/calmer kids). She is partially house trained but we offer FREE online training through Pet Academy. She is about 1.5 years old and full grown at 40lbs. Grace would like a kind, considerate home with a yard and lots of love to give. Can you provide that for her?
Mocha came to us from another rescue with her sister, Grace. The rescue took in more dogs than they could care for and gave them very little attention or care. Mocha was very scared when she got here but is really coming out of her shell now. She loves the attention we are able to provide and all of the treats. She gets excited when we go into her room and runs up to us now. Although still a little shy with strangers, she is very sweet and playful. She does very well with other dogs and would be good with kids too (older/calmer kids). She is partially house trained but we offer FREE online training through Pet Academy. She needs to gain a little weight but shouldn’t be more than 40lbs at a healthy weight. She is about 1.5 years old. Mocha would like a kind, considerate home with a yard and lots of love to give.
