Lefty

Shepherd, Collie MixLefty came from a home that has too many dogs. He and his 5 siblings grew up in a small pen with little socialization. He craves affection and accepts it, but can be a little shy at first. He was so scared the first day he came to the shelter that we had to carry him everywhere. Today, he wonders around with curiosity and excitement. He is still a little timid, but is getting more confident each day. He just needs to learn that he is safe and that we aren’t going to harm him. Lefty had never been brushed or bathed before we got him so his coat is pretty ragged, but we are brushing him daily to get it looking good again. He is not housetrained but only goes in his outside area here, so should be easily trained. We offer free online obedience training to all of our adopters via Dog Academy to help with that. Lefty will be a wonderful dog for any dog loving home! He is about a year old and weighs 55lbs.

Petey

Petey is such a good boy! He loves other dogs and going for walks. If you tell him you’re going to take his picture he will pose for you (very cute!). He knows basic commands and is very eager to please. Petey can be timid around some people, but for the most part he is friendly. He would do best in a home with another dog or with a person/family that would take him everywhere with them – he tends to get anxious when left alone and is known to bark. Petey has great energy and is a fun dog that would make a great addition to any dog loving home. He is 3 years old and 55lbs.

Ham

This little love bug is Ham, aka Hamilton or Hammy. He is 3 years old, full grown at 26lbs and is such a sweetheart. He loves other dogs and goes crazy for booty scratches. He is very shy at first but will love you to death if you give him time to warm up to you AND if you don’t mind getting nipped at a time or two. This is his defense mechanism due to not being treated very well before he came here. We were all nipped at once or twice the first month he was here, and he does it randomly when he is scared, but for the most part he has stopped. Ham has a very gentle nature and you can tell he just wants to be loved. It will just take a little time for him to get used to you and a new environment. Ham is house-trained, neutered and up to date on shots.

Buck

Rotti This poor guy has been overlooked for 2 years! Yes, that is right, Buck has been here at the shelter since March of 2023. We are not sure why though…Buck has stolen all of our hearts. He has a fun energy and just loves to be included in things. He is a 60 pound ball of joy! Buck just wants to be where the action is and loves people. He does well with most other dogs, but prefers to be the only dog in the home so he can get all of the attention. Buck is house and leash trained and LOVES going for walks. He is also very good at entertaining himself with a good bone and he enjoys to lay on his bed with his blankets. Buck will make a great dog for anyone who will smother him with love and take him on adventures.

Mikey

Mikey came to us with his brother, Monroe.  They are an owner surrender and we were told the parents were Mountain Dog and Heeler.  Mikey has been outside in a pen all of his life and not given much attention, so he is a little shy. He doesn’t potty in his pen, so would be easy to housetrain. Mikey loves to go for walks and chew on bones. He is a pretty neat guy once you get to know him.
