German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees Dewey is a 3 year old German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix who needs to be re-homed. He is microchipped, heart worm free and up to date on all his immunizations. Here is what his current owner has to say about Dewey:

He weighs 80 pounds. He is extremely loyal and bonds with his people quickly. He is definitely a working dog who needs to go go go all the time. He is also very smart (a dog genius), athletic, and graceful. He could be an award winning agility dog, if someone had the time to invest in him. He is a fully trained graduate of the Paws in Prison program.

He does have some unique traits to the shepherd group. He is very protective. He can certainly appear intimidating enough to stop any intruder. He does not do well with children because he wants to herd them, and rather aggressively. He will also try to herd other dogs in a dog park area.

Dewey would do best in a home with someone who is quite active and spends a significant amount of time at home. He is too smart for the first time dog owner, and needs someone who can spend a lot of time taking him on adventures and teaching him new things to do.
He is one of the most loving dogs, however, that you will ever meet. Once he accepts you as part of his family, he will be very devoted and always ready to love you.
