Annie came to us with her sister, Annie. Both came from a hoarder with too many dogs and not much socialization. Annie will be timid at first but comes around quickly. After a few sit downs with her, she will allow pets. She prefers to be outside but has been both inside and outside. Annie is good with other dogs and loves to run around and play. She is not leash trained yet.
Annie is a Border Collie/Australian Kelpie Mix (we think) and is about 1 1/2 years old. She is full grown at 40 lbs and is spayed. This breed needs an active home and lifestyle, can you provide that for her?

After a few sit downs with her, she will be in your lap. She is very affectionate and has a loving nature. She prefers to be outside but has been both inside and outside. Apple is also playful good with other dogs. She is not leash trained yet.
Thunder was an owner surrender due to family issues. He is very playful and has the most animated facial expressions. Initially, he was a family pet but most recently he was in a pen by himself with very little attention. He seems to be more fearful with men, but is warming up to our attention and treats. I sat in the yard with him and it took about 5 minutes of him taking treats before he would let me pet him. Once the trust was developed, he just melted into me, leaning all of his weight on me wanting pets. He might take a little time to get used to you, but will be a loyal companion once y’all get comfortable with each other. We are learning that Thunder is super affectionate, playful and goofy. He tends to chase cats but is good with kids and other dogs. Thunder is about 2 years old and weighs 60 lbs.
Nash is an extremely smart, sweet dog. Unfortunately, he was found abandoned – left chained up without food, water, or a shelter. He was brought to us by the local sheriff. We don’t know anything about his story but he loves everybody at the shelter and responds well to our attention and care. Nash just wants to be near people and is very playful. He appears to be a full-blooded Aussie and has a very unique, loving personality. He would make a wonderful pet for an active person or family. This breed of dog needs to stay busy and active, not just be left by himself all day long. Nash is about a year old and full grown at 55 lbs.
**Dean was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. He will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. He will be crate trained, learn manners and he will learn lots of tricks as well! This handsome dog showed up as a stray and was never claimed. Brooks is very friendly, walks well on a leash, and is house trained. It appears to us that he has been part of a family because he loves people and is very well behaved. He can be very shy at first but don’t let that fool you. He would be good with other dogs and kids too. He doesn’t care for cats though. He has a very gentle, sweet personality. Brooks is about a year old and weighs 60lbs.
Poor Chappy was found tied up in the back of a local vet’s office in very bad condition. He was very thin and tested positive for every worm imaginable. He received treatment and is doing great now. In spite of whatever he has been through, Chappy is very happy and loves everyone he meets. He is the sweetest dog and just wants to be loved. He is good with other dogs and has a very gentle nature. He also has a lot of energy now and doesn’t have any idea just how big he is…he is like a clumsy puppy! He is a big lovable goofball and he will light up your life with all of the joy he has flowing from within him. Chappy is about 4 years old and currently weighs 84lbs – he shouldn’t gain too much more.

Grace came to us from another rescue with her sister, Mocha. The rescue took in more dogs than they could care for and gave them very little attention or care. She is a little scared of other dogs and people too. Although still a little shy, she is very sweet and playful. She is partially house trained. She is about 1.5 years old and full grown at 44 lbs. Grace would like a kind, considerate home with a yard and lots of love to give. Can you provide that for her?
Mocha came to us from another rescue with her sister, Grace. The rescue took in more dogs than they could care for and gave them very little attention or care. Mocha was very scared when she got here but is really coming out of her shell now. She loves the attention we are able to provide and all of the treats. She gets excited when we go into her room and runs up to us now. Although still a little shy with strangers, she is very sweet and playful. She does very well with other dogs and would be good with kids too (older/calmer kids). She is partially house trained . She is highly energetic and stays on the slender side because of this. She is about 1.5 years old and weighs 40lbs. Mocha would like a kind, considerate home with a yard and lots of love to give.
